Plia is a purpose-driven lab within 44LLC, which seeks to explore interdependencies within the built environment. Envisioned by Jessica Corr (co-principal 44LLC + faculty at Parsons School of Design), Plia takes a multifaceted approach to create beautiful objects of desire that honor the planet from which they are born.

The name Plia comes from the ancient Greek 'Panoplia', its meaning has referred to the splendid display of “a full collection of armor.” With this initiative, we're building a new kind of armor; one that protects our biosphere while celebrating the human need for beauty.
